I’m very impressed in myself as I’m half way through the training plan now. This has me running 7 miles on tuesdays and thursdays and I’m at 12-14 miles on saturdays.
The mental game is getting easier as my body catches up with what my mind think’s it’s capable and on cool days like yesterday I was able to accomplish 7 miles in about an hour and thirty minutes!
I’m feeling a bit of the hump but I know the marathin itself is only 8 more weeks away and I’m going to be ready.

Had to get some new shoes, I’m now wearing one of Asics stability shoes (will update with which shoe specifically soon). I’m expecting this to help with my current knee problem since it started on my long run on week 1. Going to continue this week but do easy runs to make sure that I don’t aggravate the tendon in my knee any more.
I’m feeling the extra strength and I’m breaking the mental barrier much earlier in my runs so that I can just run and ignore the pains. Lung capacity feels good right now, though I’m not into full hyperventilation mode on the harder days, i can at least handle the increased paces.

Find myself at New Horizons computer learning center today. Learning about Publisher 2007, ad a little bit about Windows 7.
Big things I learned about that I needed to know was about master pages and how to better manage the layout. All in all it was useful!

So my sister is in her new house now. Got to help her last night with changing the cartridge in her shower so she could have hot water to shower with. The fun part is now I’m an owner of a set of easy outs because the pin for her shower handle was stripped which added an hour to the change time for this thing.
Still trying to figure out why I don’t have any hot water pressure with my American Standard shower faucet. I’m still planing to replace it with a Moen.
This weekend I’m getting my garage finished with garage door openers! and a new door on the south side so I can use the sidewalk rather than walk around the garage.
Also will be putting some friends to work to dig out some stumps and spread around a yard of top soil.

Wanted to add this as a quick post since i was reminded about it recently. Several of the machines at work here have issues with the homepage being reset either by installs or by people making the changes. To that end, Group Policy can be used to set the homepage for Internet Explorer. The article I read about this can be found here: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/274846

Today I found myself digging a 30 foot long trench that was 24 inches deep. I definitely didn’t feel like running 4 miles or so tonight, and thankfully my coach said i could take a night off. Sitting at founders tonight, I do feel close to having ran 4 miles or so, at least in upper body, as well as a little bit of lower body. However tomorrow, I will run another 4 miles again to make sure i’m good to go come October 17.
I also ended up blocking the second weak point in my yard fence for my dog Meeka today as she used it in front of me to get out of the backyard. What a little snot. I do have about 4 more larger stumps I want to dig out yet. Also there is the repair to the backyard where I’d like to get the trench evened out. Hopefully in a couple weeks I’ll get my dad over with his truck to haul a load of top soil to even out some low spots and then re-seed and put down some straw for the grass to grow in.

I’m registered to run the Metro Health Grand Rapids Marathon and starting June 28th will start the training schedule for rookie marathon runners as created by Runners World Magazine.
I’m to the point already where I see how much of a sacrifice this will be and I’m only running around 3 miles a day 5-6 days a week! I am feeling more energetic and have been craving bread pretty seriously though.
I have a good coach and source of encouragement so I’m sure I’ll make it, will have to see if I make my goal of 4 hours 4o minutes.

Check out the new website paytonsraceforacure.com. The site is not complete but enough of it is in place to go live. Over the next couple weeks the rest of the content will appear.

Because I’m a geek, and I can do things like this. I nabbed someone’s zip file of the Google pac-man logo and am hosting it here on Dronefish. Enjoy! I know I loved it! and for the record I only played 3 lives before I went back to work after discovering it. The story I heard from my corporate office is that one of the IT staffers walked into the HR department where they were all playing it and got embarrassed about it.

Another great weekend. I gout my Prism Zephyr this weekend and it was great! The Kite fest in Grand Haven was a great turn out on Saturday and the Fog was really creepy. When we got out there visibility was at about 3 miles, in an hour it was down to around 200 yards or so. I was impressed how wet my kite got flying in the fog.
I also had the opportunity to ride my Cycle with a passenger. It was a lot different but way more fun!
Also did some more work on paytonsraceforacure.com and am hoping to launch the site after memorial day. I have to layout the internal pages and load content yet.
